The 50th anniversary edition of the Japanese Speech Contest Benron Taikai, together with the Japanese Writing Contest 2026, took place on April 18, 2026, at Masarykova kolej in Prague 6.
This prestigious annual event is sponsored by MEAC, a company with a longstanding commitment to supporting education and cultural exchange in the field of the Japanese language. The competition attracted talented participants from across the Czech Republic, who demonstrated not only their language skills but also a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
The highlight of the afternoon was the ceremonial announcement of the results, during which MEAC President Hiroshi Ino personally congratulated the winners and presented awards for their outstanding performances.
“After participating in this speech context, I felt that events like this show how language can connect people across cultures and create new opportunities for the younger generation. We are proud to support such initiatives and to witness the remarkable passion and dedication among the participants,” said Hiroshi Ino during the ceremony.
This anniversary edition once again confirmed the importance of this competition as a key platform for developing language skills and fostering intercultural dialogue.
