The project of the Zvonicek Foundation linked Mitsubishi Electric with the Czech Technical University in Prague. For almost 30 years, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as part of the Zvonicek Foundation, has been rewarding its top graduates in the competition for defended diploma theses in the given academic year. Two colleagues from MEAC, Martin Plas, Production manager, and Pavel Hanč, Assistant Manager of Production Technologies, participated in this project as evaluators. Together, they selected the most suitable scope for MEAC from the list of thematic groups for assessment, focusing on Construction and Technology – Construction section.
The evaluation of diploma theses took place within 21 days. Subsequently, our evaluators submitted their assessments and rankings to the commission, and the evaluation was conducted via MS Teams. Martin Plas commented on this demanding process, “I must say it was an interesting experience, also a learning one. Those works were really at a very high level, some could easily be doctoral dissertations. As Pavel mentioned, why not invite such a talent here to help us with some chronic problems – such as machining on the STATOR line. If there is a similar opportunity in the future, we will gladly participate again with Pavel.”
